The Coffee StoreIndependent shopping guide

How we work

This page is the site’s contract with you. It is short because the rules are simple, and kept that way on purpose.

What this site is

An independent shopping guide for coffee. We help you choose beans, subscriptions, and a small amount of gear — then send you to the seller to buy. We never sell coffee ourselves, never hold a cart, and never see your payment.

Where every fact comes from

Every roast level, tasting note, and plan term on this site is seller-described — the roaster’s or retailer’s own claim, passed on and clearly labeled. We have not tasted these coffees and do not label anything “tested” or “reviewed.” Flavor-family tags are our editorial mapping of the seller’s notes onto eight families, built for comparison.

Seller-described · unverified is the mark you’ll see beside every entry. It means: real seller, real product, their description, our pass-through — not an endorsement.

How prices are handled

We publish indicative ranges — a typical band for a bag, marked unverified — because copied prices go stale and wrong fast. The retailer’s current price always controls. Per-cup estimates state their assumptions (20 g a cup, range midpoint). We do not track prices, store prices, chart price history, or send price alerts.

How the finder decides

With printed rules: hard filters, then fixed point values, published on the finder page. The same rules run for every visitor. There are no hidden weights, no paid placement, and no scores out of ten — a coffee either fits stated answers or it doesn’t, and the reasons are shown either way.

Commissions, plainly

Some retailer links are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking, the seller may pay us a commission. It does not change the order of results, the words around them, or the rules above — the printed scoring doesn’t know or care which links pay. Links carry rel="sponsored"; the disclosure appears near the recommendations, not only in the footer. At launch, some links are ordinary links pending program approval; they are marked the same way.

What we don’t do

  • No accounts, no tracking cookies, no analytics that follow you.
  • No selling coffee, no dropshipping, no warehouse.
  • No fake urgency, no invented discounts, no scores out of ten.
  • No claims about coffee we haven’t evaluated ourselves.

Corrections

Catalogue entries carry a last-reviewed date. If a seller changes their terms or a description reads wrong, that’s a bug in our bookkeeping — tell us and it gets fixed in the open.
